Japan's summer heat can catch you off guard, especially when a day includes long walks, station transfers and outdoor queues. You do not need every cooling product on the shelf. A few practical items are usually enough for the day ahead.

Cool down before you start shopping

If you already feel unwell, move indoors or find shade, rest and drink water before doing anything else.
